What 2025 Taught Me About Building Businesses That Actually Work

2025 wasn't my biggest revenue year. But it was my most important. Because I finally understood what I was actually trying to build, and what I needed to stop doing.

2025 Wasn't My Biggest Revenue Year. But It Was My Most Important.

Let me explain.

For years, I chased the wrong metrics. Revenue. Clients. Projects.

All good things. All the wrong scoreboard.

This year, I finally asked a better question:

"Am I building a business, or am I building an elaborate job?"

The answer wasn't comfortable.

The Pattern I Kept Seeing

I coach business owners. Agency founders. Entrepreneurs who are clearly talented.

And I kept seeing the same thing:

Smart people. Working hard. Running themselves into the ground. Calling it "success."

Their businesses worked. Kind of. Revenue was there. Kind of. Freedom was... not.

Sound familiar?

The Uncomfortable Truth

Here's what 2025 made crystal clear:

Most business owners aren't stuck because they lack skills, motivation, or work ethic.

They're stuck because their businesses are designed, often accidentally, to require them at every turn.

  • They remember what no system remembers
  • They follow up when tools go silent
  • They connect dots no one else even sees

From the outside, it looks like leadership. From the inside, it feels like being trapped.

What I Stopped Doing This Year

I stopped pretending "more" was the answer.

More leads won't help if you can't handle the ones you have. More revenue won't help if it costs you your sanity. More tools won't help if the architecture underneath is broken.

Instead, I started asking different questions:

  • What can I remove?
  • What's running on memory instead of design?
  • Where am I the bottleneck?

These questions led me somewhere I didn't expect.

What's Coming Next

Over the next two days, I'm releasing something I've been building for years.

It's called The Manumation Method™.

It's a framework for business owners who are done being the glue. Who want to build something that works without constant intervention. Who are ready for 2026 to look different.

Tomorrow, I'll tell you what it is. The day after, I'll tell you why it matters for what we're building in 2026.

But for now, I just want to say this:

If 2025 felt harder than it should have, you're not broken. The design might be.

And that's fixable.

See you tomorrow.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What was the main lesson from 2025?

Most business owners aren't stuck because of lack of skills or motivation. They're stuck because their businesses are accidentally designed to require them at every turn. The architecture is the problem, not the person.

  2. What is The Manumation Method™?

A framework coming in the next two days that helps business owners stop being the invisible glue in their companies. It's designed for people who think fast and want to build businesses that work without constant intervention.

  3. How do I know if my business has a design problem?

If stepping away creates anxiety instead of relief, if things slow down the moment you're not watching, if you feel like the hero and the bottleneck at the same time, your business might be designed around you rather than for you.
